Shirley Evelyn Wilkinson, 89, of Duluth, passed away on 21 January 2016   Shirley was born in Duluth Minnesota to Eugene Jay Wilkinson and Mary Sarah McLeod in 1926. She graduated with a business degree from the Duluth Business University. She worked for many years and retired from the Duluth Clinic. She was heavily involved in state & local politics in the 1960s. She enjoyed drawing and caring for animals all of her life. Shirley was preceded in death by her Father & Mother; Sisters, Winifred M. Buran, Virginia R.  Wilkinson, Beverly J. Sandberg, & Dorothy A. Perala, brothers, Edwin J. Wilkinson, & Clifford L. Wilkinson. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Jeffery E. Herrick), of Proctor, and her son, Michael William Ames of Duluth, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, & her cat Mally. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Allies of Duluth, 4006 Airport Road, Duluth, MN 55811. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Essentia Hospice and Solvay House.
