Shirley Irene (Larson) Sholund, 91, of Duluth, MN, entered into eternal life to be with our Heavenly Father on December 9th, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Shirley was born on November 12, 1930 in Pettibone, North Dakota to Lester and Lucille Larson.

Shirley Larson and Richard Sholund met at the Hotel Duluth where Shirley was a salad girl and Richard was the elevator operator, and on August 18, 1951 they were married.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard; parents, Lester and Lucille Larson; and brother, David Larson.

Shirley is survived by her four children, Laurie (Rick) Foster of Valencia, CA, Lynn (Jack) Holmgren of Duluth, MN, Randy (Pam) Sholund of Mustang, OK, and Steven (Stephanie) Sholund of Duluth, MN; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Luanne (Stan) Lemberg and Carole (Osacar) Eliason; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley spent her life dedicated to serving others in every way. No one ever left her house hungry and everyone was filled with love and laughter.

A private family gathering will be held this week. A future celebration in honor of Shirley's life will be held this summer for all of her cherished family and friends.
