Sandra "Sandy" Jean
Nordeen
March 2, 1938 – May 17, 2026
Solway Town Hall
Starts at 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Sandra “Sandy” Jean (Feddick) Nordeen, 88, of Duluth, MN, went to be with Jesus as she was surrounded by her loving family at home on May 17, 2026.
Born and raised in Duluth, Sandy met and married her husband, Robert “Red” D. Nordeen in 1969. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family and raising their four boys. Her weekends were happily spent camping, fishing and enjoying her sons.
As a young girl, Sandy described herself as a bit of a tomboy who loved watching sports. Backflips and kittens in the dairy barn is where she spent many of days. She loved being a mom and enjoyed laughing with her boys. She loved that they all had a sense of humor. She had the deepest caring heart for her family. She fondly remembers her time spent living in California and visiting family in Montana. After raising her boys she worked at Peterson Pike Lake Pharmacy and Walgreens.
Sandy was happiest in her kitchen, always preparing meals and snacks for those she loved; butter crackers for grandkids, two liter of pop and her favorite meal of the week was spaghetti. She found peace and joy in her gardens beds, enjoying her favorite pink roses, feeding the birds with hummingbirds her favorite.
Nothing brought Sandra more pure joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she fiercely loved and called "the apple of my eye." She knew exactly what the best toy of the year was for Christmas gifts. A cherished family tradition was the final holiday stop at Grandma’s house, where grandchildren would joyfully count candy scattered on the floor after Halloween. Sandra spent her life lifting up her family, always finding ways to offer encouragement and love.
In a final note left to her family, Sandy shared the wisdom she hoped they would carry forward: "My wish for you is to take care of yourselves. Use common sense when you disagree. Put yourself in the other person's shoes and try to compromise. Most of all, love each other. Life is too short to worry about the small things... I am always with you and will always love you."
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert D. Nordeen; and parents, Ernest and Ingrid Feddick.
Sandy is survived by her four beloved sons, Rob (Cheryl) Nordeen, John Nordeen, Jimmy Nordeen, and Dan Nordeen. She was the incredibly proud grandmother of Brook (Derek) Hoffbauer, David Nordeen, Mike (Kyle) Nordeen, Josh Nordeen, Shawna (Juan) Montez, Rachel (Eric) Pratt, Candy (Curt) Ellestad, Ellie (Brent) Freerksen, Charlie Bixler, and Glenn Bixler; and the cherished great-grandmother of Donna (Brett), Deegan, Dane, Dottie, Andi and Alice, Iverson and Briar, Lorelai and Arya, Bonnie, Nick, Zachary and Jacob, Dylan, Brady, Blake and Kaylee, Hunter and Lily, Evan and Nolan.
A Celebration of Sandra's Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 11th at the Solway Town Hall, 4029 Munger Shaw Road.
