Russell Thomas Heim, 69, of Duluth, MN passed away in his sleep on May 27, 2025. He was born on February 29, 1956, in Duluth, MN to Thomas & Dorothy Heim.

Russ was a loving husband, step-dad, brother, uncle, and friend. He was always kind, gentle and quiet.

He graduated from Denfeld High school, class of 1974. He went into the Army with Honorable Discharge in August of 1980. He was employed by USPS as a clerk in Vehicle Maintenance, retiring after 42 years.

United in marriage to Dawn, they would have celebrated 32 years in November. "Your hand fits in mine like it was made just for me."

Russ was a huge Vikings fan, and enjoyed golf, Bluesfest, and many great camp fires.

Russ was preceded in death by parents; sister, Susan Gaskell; and in-laws, Kenneth & Diantha Sunberg.

Russ is survived by his wife, Dawn; step-sons, Joshua ( Jacqueline) Johnson and Justin (Katie Fulda) Johnson; grandchildren, Camayla and Conner; sisters, Sally McNarmara and Laurie (Randy) Thudin and family; brother-in-law, Scott (Susan) Sundberg; and many great friends.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 – 4 PM on Thursday, June 19th at the Buffalo House, 2590 Guss Road, Duluth, MN.
