IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rue Ann
Brewer
May 3, 1954 – December 2, 2022
Rue Ann (Hmielewski) Brewer, 68, of South Range Superior, WI died Friday December 2, 2022 at St Luke's Hospital Hospice Care after a 2 year battle with Cancer.
Rue was born May 3, 1954 in Ashland, WI to Frank and Marjorie (Kelley) Hmielewski. After graduating from Ashland High School in 1972, Rue enlisted in the Marine Corps based out of Milwaukee, WI. She was transferred to Florida where she met and married Norman Brewer in 1973. When pregnant with her 1st child, Rue had an Honorable discharge as a Marine ending her 2 year term. In September 1974 she gave birth to son, Keith Brewer. In 1976 Rue and Norman separated, at which time Rue found herself back home in Wisconsin where she started to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a Clerk. In January 1979 she met Michael Michelizzi, giving birth to her 2nd child, Stephanie Michelizzi (Ravina) December 1980. After 20-25 years passed, Rue retired from the Railroad. Once retired, Rue enjoyed her life to the fullest spending all her free time gathering with family and friends, working side jobs, and fishing when she could. In February 2008 she met up with an old flame John "Jack" Mattson, who she enjoyed the rest of her life with working with him and building his construction business. In April of 2021 Rue found she had Cancer and was ready to fight. She fought a good fight, but after going through a year of Radiations and Chemo treatments she had enough, passing away peacefully with family surrounding her.
Rue was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ronald Hmielewski.
Rue is survived by her love, John "Jack" Robert Mattson; son, Keith (Jennifer Estes) Brewer; daughter, Stephanie (Cory) Ravina; siblings, Robert (Tamey) Hmielewski, Rey Wiggins, Randall Hmielewski, Rita (Michael) Pospychalla, Richard Hmielewski, and Russell Hmielewski; and grandchildren, Destanie Michelizzi, Anthony Ravina, Logan Egan, and Tandon Tobolowski.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at St Luke's for taking such good care of Rue during her care.
