Rolland Dwayne Freeman, 89, of Duluth, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Rolland had a passion for the outdoors, which consisted of hunting and fishing, spending time at his cabin on Long Lake with family and friends, and travelling with his wife. He also loved coaching little and senior league baseball for Lake Park. Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Hannah Freeman; and his siblings, Annabelle, Floyd, and Melba. Rolland is survived by his wife of 67 years, Merelyn Mae Freeman; daughter, Dona (Jack) Wilson; son, Steve (Beth) Freeman; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Wilson, Kristi Wilson, Chris (Shelly) Freeman, and Kyle (Hillarie) Freeman; great-grandchildren, Gregory, Dylan, Sarina, Emma, River, Rynn, and Kylee; and siblings, Homer (Marion) Freeman, Meredith (Bob) Magnuson, and Jack (Pat) Freeman. His family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospice nurses and staff for the love and care of Rolland, along with Dr. Plachta. Per Rolland's request, no services will be held.
