Roland "Rolly" Hanson, 86, peacefully passed away with his dog Shelby by his side on March 11, 2025, in Saginaw, MN. Roland was born in Duluth, MN on May 27, 1938 to Clarence and Jennie Hanson. He graduated high school in Duluth and was a auto mechanic and worked at the United States Postal Service until he retired in 1998. Rolly loved all of his dogs that he had throughout his lifetime, they were great companions. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, four wheeling, fishing, snowmobiling and flying in his earlier years. He liked to work with metal at a machinist level and with metal in general. He moved out to the lake in 1973 and was one of people who lived there the longest. He enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and visiting with friends. He could often be seen in his yard looking at the lake on warm summer days with his dogs by his side. Roland is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hanson and mother, Jennie Hanson. Committal service to be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with interment to follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
