Rodney Poppenberg, 81, passed away peacefully on Fri. Dec. 2, 2016. Rodney worked 44 years for the DWP Railroad. He spent 6 years in the 148th Fighter Wing. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with family and friends. Rodney is preceded in death by his sisters, Lola Goerts and Gail Korcha. Rodney is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen; children, Tracey (Bruce) Kellerhuis, Ward (Nancy) Poppenberg, and Paul (Cheryl) Poppenberg; grandchildren, Amanda Benson, Tammy Kellerhuis, Thomas Kellerhuis, and Andrew Poppenberg; great-grandchildren, Bella Poppenberg, Maija Seidel, and Audrey Kellerhuis; brother, Phillip (Sandra) Poppenberg; brother-in-law, Arnold "Jake" Jacobson; and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, with a service to follow at 12 p.m.
