Rodney James Aho, 86, of Duluth, MN passed away on September 29, 2025 at Viewcrest Health Center of Duluth.
Rodney was born in Duluth to Leo and Ailie Aho on July 23, 1939. He graduated from Clover Valley High School in 1957. He served in the Air Force where he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska. He worked for Litton Industries / Duluth Avionics. Most of his career was spent as a grain inspector for the State of Minnesota from which he retired in 2001.
Rodney spent much time outside, tending to the yard, flowerbeds and gardens. There were also many seasons in the hayfield, as well as snow removal and harvesting wood. He always enjoyed coffee with family and friends. After retirement he and Linda enjoyed going to many tractor shows. He supported his daughter and granddaughters in their many activities.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Aho; and sister, Helen Antram.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Aho; son, Warren Aho; daughter, Connie (Wade) Felde; granddaughters, Sarah Felde and Laura Felde; brother, Bill (Dorothy) Aho; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Aspirus St Luke's Hospice and Viewcrest Health Center.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday October 24th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Residential Service Inc, 2900 Piedmont Ave Duluth, MN 55811.
