IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Morris
Levy
June 30, 1930 – February 15, 2022
Robert M. Levy, 91, of Duluth, crossed his final bridge on February 15, 2022 in Essentia Health - Miller Dwan Hospital. We are sure that along the way he stopped many times to make sure it was built correctly. Once over that bridge we are sure he had a tee time made and found a couple of his old fishing buddies to go fishing with and crack open a couple of beers. He was well loved by his family and friends. He also instilled in his children to be kind and respectful to other people.
He loved to fish, golf, play pool, and bowl. In his younger years he did some curling and played fast pitch softball. He golfed and played pool into his mid-80's.
When he was real young he would sell newspapers on the streets in downtown Duluth and had other jobs. He joined the Navy and after he came home he worked for the United State Steel Duluth. He then became an ironworker for several different contractors. He became a forman and then general forman for Johnson Brothers. He put in many bridges and buildings. Spent some time up in Greenland off and on working for them.
He was a member of the all American club for many years spending many of those years as either the club president, or club chairman, as well as bartending.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Abe and Bella. The mother of all his children, Hope Levy Marotta, second wife Betty levy. Sister Fay Itman, 3 grandchildren Jamie and Tamra Wick, and Dillon Levy.
Robert is survived by his children Mona, Rocky (Diane), Bobbi, Gina, Tracy, Mitch (Cindy),Vinnie (Pam), Jeff (Kathy),and Sheri (Tony). 10 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Also a special friend and partner who took him in as part of their own family: Shirley Klejewski & children Shawn, Susie, Sheri, Sandy, Steve, and Scott.
