Robert "Bob" "Kiki" Alvin Schramm, 88, of Duluth, Minnesota passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024 at Viewcrest Health Center, surrounded by his family. Bob was born on September 24, 1935 in Duluth to Albert and Olga Schramm.
Bob was a devoted husband to Grace "Ginger" and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Together they raised two children and became proud grandparents.
Upon graduation from Central High School, he served in the Navy, and became a skilled heavy equipment mechanic and union representative as a civilian at the Duluth Airforce Base until its closure. He then provided security, was an automotive instructor at the federal prison and the vo-tech school, and was a patient escort at the Duluth Clinic for many years until his final retirement.
Bob enjoyed playing broomball, baseball, bowled several 300 games, coached youth hockey, and enjoyed square dancing in later years. He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, a Mason, and 50+ year member of the Moose.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Evelyn, Margaret, Lois, Donald, Richard, and Russell.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace; children, Roger (Dianne) and Karen (Bob) Bastianelli; grandchildren, Tyler Schramm and Paul Bastianelli; sisters, Lola Janetta and Judy Wihriala; brother, Glenn (Karen); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Per Bob's request, no funeral will be held. Interment at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Duluth in Saginaw will be held at a future date.
