Robert W. Gibson PhD, 81, of Duluth, MN passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 30th, 2013. He was born in Duluth on August 4, 1931. Graduated from Denfeld High School 1949, BA from UMD, Masters in Medical Sociology LSU, PhD from SUNY at Buffalo.  He worked as a Professor in the School of Medicine at UMD, and as a research Epidemiologist in the school of Public Health at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.  Bob enjoyed gardening, art, woodworking and traveling with his longtime companion Sharon Traub.   He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Margaret Gibson, and brother Samuel B. Gibson.  He is survived by four children, Reid (Robin), Nina (Mark), Joel, Beth (Kent), 9 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, Florence P. Gibson of Duluth, the mother of their children, and cousins John Bubik and JoAnne Gregorash.
