Richard L. "Dick" Wingren passed away on Friday October 10, 2014 in Chris Jensen from multiple complications following surgery. Dick was born on November 27, 1933 to Leonard and Madeline (Johnson) Wingren. He lived most of his life in Duluth with the exception of living in Florida for eight years. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1952. He married Janis Hendrickson on July 14, 1956 and together they raised two daughters. Dick enjoyed ski jumping in his youth, deer hunting, fishing, golf, snowmobiling and bowling. He was a member of the Chester Bowl Ski Club, Duluth Ski Club, Northland Optimist (Past President), The Elks 133 and the Turtle Patrol Snowmobile Club. His greatest love was spending time with friends, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and grand-dog, Kami. He was preceded in death by parents, two siblings, (who died at birth) and son-in-law Kevin Kolquist. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janis, daughters' - Cindy Kolquist (Rod Saline) of Duluth and Sandy Wingren of Florida. Four grandchildren; Brandon (Debbi) Kolquist, Kristin (Andrew) Davis, Kara (Jesse) Stokke, and Mark (Beth) Stelzer, GG Dick is also survived by six great-grandchildren-Briggs & Brody Kolquist, Kylee, Jace & Jax Stokke, and Emma Stelzer. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, Chris Jensen and St. Luke's Hospice for their care. A Memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 Arlington Avenue on Thursday October 16, 2014. Visitation 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial service.
