Richard A. Schramm, age 77 of Hermantown, passed away at his home on February 29, 2016.  He was born on August 13, 1938, to Albert and Olga Schramm in Duluth.  He graduated from Central High School in 1956 and attended the Dunwoody College of Technology.  After his schooling, he worked as a maintenance engineer for Elk River Concrete, and retired in 1997.  On October 26, 1963, he was united in marriage to Betty Conroy of Webster, WI.  Together they raised one son. Richard most enjoyed spending time at the cabin, working with his hands, and spending time with family.  He was well known for his ability to problem solve and fix anything. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Hanson, Margaret Jahr and Lois Forsberg. Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty; son, Brad (Torri); grandchildren, Brooke and Ryan; brothers, Donald (Bernie), Robert (Grace), twin brother Russell (Carol), Glenn (Karen); sisters, Lola Janetta, Judy Wihriala; several nieces, nephews and friends.
