Richard “Dick” Lee Terwilliger, 86, of Hermantown, Minnesota, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 28, 2026.

He was born on November 21, 1939, in Eugene, Oregon, to William (Bill) and Florence Terwilliger. Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew him. He was known for his warm and caring nature and never spoke a harsh word to anyone.

As a young man, Dick earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree he entered the United States Air Force, going on to earn a Master's Degree in Computer Science. Dick retired from the Air Force with the rank of Captain. He then had a second career with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

In 1977, Dick married the love of his life, Judy. Together they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage and traveled the world side by side. He was also gifted with a beautiful tenor voice and sang with the Duluth Symphony Chorus, the Down Beats, as well as several church choirs.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol; daughter, Lori; and his grandson, Cade.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughters, Keri, Beth, and Laurie; and son, Michael. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 1st with Funeral Service at 10:30AM at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, MN 55811. Burial to follow at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery- Duluth.
