Richard "Dick" Dean Nelson, 91, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Essentia Health St Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 28, 1932 in Duluth, MN to Arley and Dagney (Carlstein) Nelson.

Dick graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI. He then served in the Air Force for four years and went on to work for the steel plant in Morgan Park, Duluth.

Dick met his wife, Dolores, in Duluth and they married on September 5, 1959. They had four children, Mike, Sherry, Todd and Terry. Dick retired from the US Steel plant in 1979 at the age of 47. Since then, he enjoyed flea marketing and wintering in Florida with Dolores. When his children were younger, he brought them on many camping adventures: Yellowstone, South Dakota, and California to name a few.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, Todd Nelson; sister, Gloria DeGrio; and brother, Kenneth Nelson.

Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores; sons, Michael and Terry Nelson; daughter, Sherry (Steve) Lindbeck; granddaughters, Samantha, Savannah, Sabrina, Clarissa, Taylor, and Alecia; grandsons, Steven, Shawn, Andre, Asher, Ricky, Trevor and Josh; many great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Nelson; and all of his nieces and nephews.

Entombment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
