Raymond "Ray" Edwin Rasmussen, 82, of Two Harbors, MN, passed away on September 27, 2024 at Viewcrest Health Center.

Ray was born in Duluth to Edwin and Wilma in December 4, 1941. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1960. He married Carol Hanson in November of the following year. Ray worked for DM&IR for 23 years before his retirement in 1997.

Ray enjoyed all sorts of racing. When he was younger, you'd find him at the racetrack and working on the mud trucks. Recently, watching racing of any kind on TV.

Ray enjoyed his monthly Thursday lunches with the guys.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.

Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Carol; children, Gregory (Angela) Rasmussen of Anoka, Debra (Bruce) Ukura of Two Harbors, and April (Robert) Rasmussen of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Nicolas, Bettina, John, Emily, Raymond, Matthew, Jessica, and Sara; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Ellefsen, Eleanor Larsen, Betty (Jim) Merling, and Janet Rasmussen; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Viewcrest and St Luke's hospice.

Visitation to be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 3rd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service at 3:00 PM and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
