Raymond Charles "Charlie" Lane Jr., 72, of Duluth, was taken from us on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Charlie was born on June 14, 1946 to Aune and Raymond Lane in Cloquet, MN. He served In the US Navy and after retiring he resided in Duluth. He worked several jobs before finding his career working at A.G. O'Brien Plumbing & Heating, retiring in 2008 after 35 years. He married his wife, Doreen (Ahrendt), on June 19, 1981. They raised 3 beautiful girls. Charlie enjoyed local dirt track racing, and worked as a pitman from a very young age. He loved NASCAR, football, baseball, and especially enjoyed camping at United Northern Sportsman with his family, where he was a member for several years. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and his in-laws, Eddie and Betty Ahrendt. Charlie is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doreen; children, Deanna (Pat) Dodge, Darilyn (David) Gitzen, and Kayla (Todd) Noonan; grandchildren, Jakob Ziells, Alivia and Karter Noonan, and baby Ryker Charles who is due next month; brother, Ronald (Cindy) Lane; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Pat Montgomery, St Luke's Hospice, and Golden Oaks Hermantown. VISITATION: 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, Feb. 15th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, continuing at 10 am on Saturday, Feb. 16th with funeral service to follow at 11 am.
