Ray Bennie Johnson, 78, of Cloquet, passed away at home on August 30, 2025 from bladder cancer.
Ray was born on September 21, 1946, in Crosby, MN to Tracy and Arlene Johnson. He later moved to the Duluth area and graduated from Central High School in 1964. He married the love of his life, Judy (Nelson) Johnson, in 1967. He spent 3 years serving our country in the Army. Ray worked hard and spent years working for Diamond Tool and Oneida Realty. During those years, he spent much of his time playing cribbage, where he received a plaque for the highest hand (29), and fishing when time permitted.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Judith "Judy"; and siblings, Earl (Betty) Johnson, Alice (Harold) LeDoux, Florence (Elde) Booth, John (Joanne) Johnson, Alfred Johnson, Eldo (Reiko) Johnson, Jackie (Jane) Johnson, Roy Johnson and Tracy Johnson.
Ray is survived by his son, Kenneth (Rachael) Johnson; daughter, Kelly (Eric) Lane; five grandkids; siblings, Jane (Vincent) Simone, Shirley (Dale) Knudsen, Donald (Gloria) Johnson, and Ronald (Kari) Johnson; sister-in-law, Dee Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Rd, Superior, WI, with visitation at 10:00 AM, memorial service at 11:00 AM, and reception to follow.
