Priscilla R Horak-Gilbert of Duluth MN, age 76, passed away Monday June 15, 2015 with her family by her side. Priscilla was on her journey to Gods heavenly gates, and every step along the way she brought her family and friends on the journey with her, blessed us with moments of laughter, stories, tears and the true confirmation of that greater power above. It is a journey we will never forget. Priscilla had a deep love for her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Priscilla is survived by her three children Kim (Jess) Cherrington, Donald (Maribeth) Horak Jr., Mark (Roni) Horak. And her beloved dog Kinlee. Priscilla is survived by her siblings- brothers Philip Carkhuff, Bob (Linda) Phillips and sisters Penny (Dale) Buran and Pat (Duane) Fornshell. Sister in law Sherry Messerschmidt. Grandchildren- Brandon (Jenn Woinarowicz and Riley) Cherrington, Mathew (Keri) Cherrington, Megan (Trevor) Erikson, Kendra (Brian) Lewis, Evan (Teah Rosendahl) Horak, Markie Horak and Christina Borich. Great Grandchildren- Addison, Sophie, Owen, Payton, Oliver, Rowan and the newest addition soon to arrive this November. Priscilla is preceded in death by her husband Donald Horak Sr, they were married June 2nd 1958, and he passed away on july 20th 1973 and her second husband Elton Gilbert, they were married April 11th 1978, and he passed away on May 20th 1984. Also preceded in death by her father Vernon Messerschmidt and Norma (Phillips) Messerschmidt-Carkhuff, Stepfather Ben Carkhuff and brother Marty Messerschmidth. Priscilla was surrounded by the love of her family and many others in whom she called her children, and they called her "Mom", "Nan" "Perc" or "Friend" such as her campground friends and family and Dr. Dean Fox (her "adopted" son at heart). Special thanks and graditude go to Mike Talarico, the amazing staff at Miller Dwan, Essentia Hospice, and the caring staff at St. Eligius. Celebration of Life: Please join us Tuesday June 23rd 2015 for her celebration of life at 2pm, at the Dry Dock 2820 Midwaqy Road, Duluth, MN. The family will honor Priscilla's wishes for a private family ceremony prior to the celebration of life.
