Obituary

Philip Quentin Quade, 71, formerly of Hermantown passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2020 of complications from Parkinson's Disease. Phil was born November 9, 1948 to Earl and Bernice (Beel) Quade. He graduated in 1966 from Hermantown High School. Phil was drafted right out of high school by the United States Army and proudly served 2 years in Vietnam. On May 23, 1970 he married Barbara daughter of George and the late Betty Boice in Buffalo, NY. He loved sports, all sports and participated in many including, football, basketball, bowling, and shooting pool, but his passion was softball. Those that knew him will remember his infectious sense of humor and of course let's not forget his love for the casino... He is proceeded in death by his parents; and sister, Lois. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Barbara of Bigfork; son, Justin (Saundra) of Coon Rapids; daughter, Kristin Bergman (Tony) of Coleraine; 8 grandchildren, Brendon (Jade), Myra, Indigo, Kate, Joey, Jayda and Jace; sister, Barbara Christopherson of Proctor; brother, Richard Sullivan of Washington; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, George and Mary Anne Soular. Although Phil did not like the situation he was in, he loved everyone involved in his care. We as a family would like to thank the staff at Bigfork Valley LTC for their unselfish dedication in caring for him the past 3 years. Graveside service with Military Honors to be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 19th at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy.
