Peter Opack, of Duluth, passed away Sept. 25, 2016 in his home. He was born July 1, 1938. Peter attended St. James Parochial School, and was a 1958 graduate of Denfeld High School. He also earned a Bachelor's degree (Sociology), and a Master's degree (Education) from the University of Wisconsin, Superior. He was a prolific writer; 3 of his books were published. He worked as a social worker at various places in the Duluth area. His last position was as a social worker for the City of Duluth until he retired. He is survived by his sisters, Catherine, Ann, Mary, Lynn, Dolly, and Dorothy; brothers, John and Steve; and his life-long special friend, Arlene Pearson. Visitation: A gathering of friends will take place Thursday, Oct. 6th from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown.
