Patrick "Pat" J. Catanzarite, 98, of Duluth, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Solvay Hospice House after a long, full life.
Pat was born on December 19, 1919, to Dominic and Anna Catanzarite in Duluth. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1937. He grew up in Indiana and joined the Army in 1939, and served until 1945. He was a decorated WWII Veteran. Pat moved to Duluth prior to marrying Adeline Vatalaro on July 31, 1948, and they had a long and blessed marriage.
He worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1981. Pat was a member of St. Raphael's Church.
Pat was active up until his time of death. He loved to bowl, go to the casino, and enjoyed time with his family. Pat was the best husband and father a person could ask for, and he will be dearly missed, remembered, and always loved.
Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife, Adeline; parents; brothers, Sam and Tony; and sister, Betty Bartz.
Pat is survived by his children, Diane (David) Lavamaki, Dean (Carol) Catanzarite, Gail (Tom) Meister, and Kathy Catanzarite, all of Duluth; grandchildren, Jon (Courtney) Meister, Chrisie (Brad) Timblin, Danny (fiancé Chris DePaulis) Catanzarite, and Lacey (Christian) Hella; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Catlin; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
VISITATION: 10am on Saturday, July 28th at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 5779 Seville Rd, Duluth, with Catholic Mass to follow at 11am.
