Olive "Granny" Marie Johnson, 83, of Duluth MN, passed away on the evening of September 20th 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family. Olive was born in Argyle MN, to Albert and Laura (Capistran) Landreville, where she was raised and worked on the family farm. Olive later re-located to Duluth where she met and married Raymond and added one more to the family. With the love she had for children she then opened her home and began to work as a daycare provider which lasted 40+ years. Some of her hobbies included restoring furniture, gardening and canning, and baking the best bread in the world. She proudly coached a Merritt broomball team, which successfully won the city championship many years. She was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church. Her family credits Olive for their strong work ethic, their ability to love unconditionally, and to always see the best in everybody. She was a mother to many, not only to her children. She touched the lives of all that had the pleasure to know her, even a stranger would get a hug. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters Adele Butman and Gladys Bodell. Olive is survived by her husband of 49 years, Raymond Johnson; children, Kathy (Rick) Ebmer, Marci (Patrick) McGuine, Kim (Donna) Boman, Dennis Boman, James Boman, Evelyn Dunsmoor, Tina Boman, Lisa (Rhonda) Mehle and Rachel (Duane) Carlson; grandchildren, Kellie, Keefe, John, Sarah, Garrett, Amanda, Melissa, Reah, Myles, Jacob, Emily, Austyn, and Dani; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Theresa Enge, Tom Landreville, and Louis Landreville; and many nieces and nephews. She wants to be remembered for the love she had for her family; loving them was her favorite thing to do. VISITATION: 1 pm on Friday, September 27th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with memorial service to follow at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
