Obituary

Norman Leo Boutain, 90, of Duluth, died Sunday, Dec. 23 at St Eligus. He was born January 31, 1922 to William and Fedora Boutain and raised on a farm in Dorothy MN. Norman was a brave survivor of the Invasion of Normandy.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Norman was united in marriage with Edna Hegg in Crookston MN on June 3, 1953. They moved to Duluth in 1965 working at Chun King and then retiring from Diamond Tool. Norman remained an active elder, walking every day. He loved playing cards with his family, bargain hunting, and listening to country and polka music. Rest well dear Norman.  A Special Thank You to the Staff at St Eligus and Essentia Hospice   He was preceded in death by his parents and 17 brothers & sisters. He is survived by his wife Edna and sons Mike (Barb) Hegg and Larry, grandchildren Mick, Dan, Dane, Tad, and Katy, 6 great-grandchildren and a sister Alphonsine Brantl. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from Noon until the 1:00PM Funeral Service in Sunrise Funeral Home.  Military Honors will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.
