Nancy Kobernick passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on March 20, 1943, Nancy spent the last 30 years of her life in Superior, Wisconsin, where she became a familiar and valued member of the community.

Nancy was a lifelong learner who earned bachelor's degrees in Journalism, History, and Political Science. Throughout her career, she worked for the Northland Shopper in Superior and also enjoyed selling Avon from her home, building many friendships along the way.

Nancy lived on North 11th Street for many years before moving to Dove Healthcare Center, where she resided at the time of her passing. She was grateful to spend time with Harold Kobernick, who had entered the same facility two months earlier.

Nancy will be remembered for her intelligence, independence, and the connections she made with those around her. She is survived by her sister, Karen Armstrong; her former husband, Harold Kobernick; and her adopted son, Guy Nystuen.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, at 12:00 p.m. at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 3311 Hammond Avenue, Superior, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
