Obituary

Maye Siltala, 96 of Golden Oakes, Hermantown, passed away on Monday March 25, 2013.  She was born on July 17, 1916 to Benjamin and Louise (Folstad) Randall in Plainview, MN.  She graduated High School in Webo, MT.  Maye married Peter Siltala in 1941, and had worked for the U.S. Forestry Service driving truck.  She also worked at the former Captain's Table and at Miller's Cafeteria.  Maye's famous saying was "I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none".   Maye loved to bowl, bowling on a team into her 80's, and she enjoyed playing cribbage.  She had a cat named Kemosabi who was her best friend.  Maye would like to be remembered as a person who loved and lived life well, learned and enjoyed it a lot.  She was a hard worker and a very positive person. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Siltala, son Rodney Paulson, and grandson Robert Olsen. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Gulsvig of Crystal, MN, and Joann Olsen of Blaine, MN, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great -grandchildren. A gathering of friends and family will be held at Sunrise Funeral Home on Friday March 29, 2013 from 11am until Noon.  Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.  To leave an online condolence please see www.sunrisefuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
