Obituary

Maurice C. Moe of Duluth passed away on March 20, 2015 at the age of 89. His parents were Simon B. and Julia (Lunke) Moe . After graduating from Central H.S. he enlisted in the Navy before his 18th birthday, and proudly served as a quartermaster on the destroyer USS Bell in the south Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed attending many Bell reunions with fellow crew mates. He earned his bachelors degree from UMD after returning home from service, and worked for many years at CCC Canteen Service in Duluth. When this business closed its Duluth office, he worked for the DTA for 10 years until retiring. He was a mentor for hundreds of young boys as Scout Master of Troop 7 and received many honors for scouting. In 2008 a special Court of Honor recognized him for 70 years in scouting. His love of and service to scouting continued the rest of his life.
