Marjorie M. (Begin) Black, 90, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House of Dementia.
Marjorie was born on May 14, 1928 to Edward and Ina (Sherman) Begin at home in the west end of Duluth. She met the love of her life, Clarence, on a blind date arranged by his brother, Lloyd, only a few days after Clarence's discharge from the Navy. They were married on March 8, 1947 and raised a family together.
She worked at Klearflax - Duluth Clinic as an elevator operator, Duluth Scientific as a welder and inspector, and was a fire dispatcher for Hermantown Fire Department prior to the 911 system. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, and baker.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of almost 72 years, Clarence; children, Larry (Barbara) Black, Sharon (Dennis) Lindquist, Richard (Jean) Black and Fayette (David) Joyal; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank the staff of Home Hospice and Solvay Hospice House for their excellent care of Marjorie.
VISITATION: 10 am on Saturday, February 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with memorial service to follow at 11 am.
