Mrs. Marion Frances Menz, age 82 of Duluth, passed from this world into God"s arms on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 after a six month courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota on April 3, 1932 to John A. and Mary (Seline) Palmquist. Sadly, Mary Palmquist passed away five days after Marion was born. She was adopted by Albert and Lieschen Giesecke in 1932. Marion went to school in Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1949. She married her beloved husband Richard W. Menz, Sr. on April 15, 1950. Marion and Richard raised seven children. In addition to being a housewife and mother, she worked for St. Mary's Hospital and Dr's. Fifield, Streitz, and Brooker in the 1960' and 1970's. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and made the best Christmas cookies. She also delighted in playing the piano and brought the gift of music to her children. Marion was preceded in death by her biological and adoptive parents, her ten siblings, her father-in-law and mother-in-law and her husband of 54 years, Richard. Marion is survived by seven children: Richard, Jr. (Susan), John (Joanne), Kathleen (Donald) Malloy, Elizabeth, Mary (Timothy) Baldwin, William (Juylie), and James.
