Marianne Helen Grote, 69, of Hermantown, Minnesota passed away on May 24, 2025 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Her passing will leave a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was born on September 28, 1955 in Ironwood, Michigan to Thomas and Lorraine Reid. Early in her childhood the family moved to Babbitt, Minnesota. Marrianne graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1974. She attended Vermillion College in Ely, Minnesota before beginning her working career in Duluth, Minnesota.

Marianne was very creative; she loved to craft, especially making items related to each holiday season. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved summers at the family cabin.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lorraine Reid.

Marianne is survived by her husband, Gary Grote; sons, Tim Grote and Justin (Leah) Grote; daughter, Andrea (Stacy) Ngwesse; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ian, Arabelle Grote, Emerson Ngwesse and Georgia Grote; and sisters, Diane (Tom) Mikolich, Jeanne (Steve) Grote and Joanne (Scott) Taber.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date.

Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown, Minnesota.
