Marianne Rita Fransen, née Stubler, died on October 5, 2022 at the age of 92 in the Benedictine Heath Center, in Duluth, Minnesota.
Marianne was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 12, 1930. She traveled with her father, Lt Col John N. Stubler, mother, Helen E. Stubler and brother, Jack Stubler, around the United States, living on a variety of army bases, included Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
She lived in Sandstone, MN as a teenager and graduated from Sandstone High School in 1948. She has lived in Duluth since 1953.
Marianne was a loving wife and mother with an amazing sense of adventure. She never passed up a chance to travel. Marianne spent time in Europe and visited a variety of countries while cruising with her family.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Fransen, who passed away in 1961; parents, Helen and John; and brother, Jack.
Marianne is survived by her daughters, Pattie (Steven C Shembab) Fransen, Karen (Pastor Thor) Sorenson and Mary Beth (Bob) Balzart; grandchildren, Thor, Kelcie, Alec, Rochelle, and Haley; and great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Kenzie and Kyler.
A Celebration of Marianne's Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 14th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Truck Hwy. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marianne will be joining her beloved husband, Paul, and her parents, in heaven, along with the many kitties that shared her home over the years. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
