Margaret “Sue” JoAnn Trapp, born October 6, 1942, in Ashland, Wisconsin, to Bernard Gregoire and Margaret Beesly, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026.
Sue began her lifelong passion for caring for others at just 18 years old, graduating from beauty school in Superior, Wisconsin. What started as a career soon became a calling, as she spent 65 years doing hair and touching the lives of countless people along the way. She married Eugene Sandberg Sr., and together they shared 27 years and had two children, Roger and SuAnn.
In the 80s, Sue courageously built her own business, “A Bit of Class,” which grew into eight salons specializing in senior living communities. Her compassion for others led her to return to college, where she earned a degree in Chemical Dependency from Fond du Lac Community College in 1996, continuing her mission of helping those in need.
Fifteen years ago, Sue found her long-awaited soulmate, John W. Trapp. They were united in marriage on November 15, 2025, and filled their days with love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they embraced life fully - traveling in their camper, exploring new places, and forming lasting friendships wherever they went. Sue especially cherished their time on Lake Superior, where she proudly captained their boat.
Sue found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments - collecting jewelry with her grandson Nicolas and playing cards with her grandson Cody. She lived with strength, courage, and an open heart, often reminding those around her that “everything happens for a reason.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, BJ Gregoire; and grandson, James Solots.
Sue is survived by her husband, John W. Trapp; children, Roger Sandberg and SuAnn (Jim) Anderson; stepchildren, Scott (Krissy) Trapp and Natalie Brendon-Trapp; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Judy Gregoire; and her dear friends, Kasey Sandberg and Tammi Duke.
Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service to be held at Noon with reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
