Lois Mae Schuman (Peterson), 93, of Duluth, passed away on January 8th 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital. Lois was born in Duluth to Albert and Harriet Peterson on March 21st 1926. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1944, and was proud to have graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica in 1996 at the age of 65 with a degree in English Literature. She worked in various businesses as an administrative assistant and as a nurse's aide. She loved being active in her church, Bible Baptist, and later North Star Baptist. She enjoyed reading, writing her own stories, singing, and spending time with her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel; and her daughter, Anna. Lois is survived by her sons, Mark Schuman, Jeff Schuman, Rick (Donna) Schuman, and John (Annette) Schuman; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Luke's Hospital and Hospice. VISITATION: 10 am on Wednesday, January 15th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
