LeRoy "Skip" Hendrickson, 75, of Duluth, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He was born in San Francisco, CA to Ernest and Lillian (Wiitala) Hendrickson. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Virginia, MN, before continuing on to Virginia Jr. College, and earning a master's degree in Special Education at UMD in 1970. His teaching career began in Fridley, MN IN 1964 and he moved to Duluth in 1965. He taught at Washburn Elementary, Center School at the Human Development Center, Denfeld High School, Central High School, Grant Elementary, and Woodland Hills Academy. After retiring from the Duluth school system he taught special needs students at WITC.
Skip loved God's word and taught both children's and adult Sunday schools, bible studies, was an Alfa leader, a Gideon in the Superior, WI camp, and enjoyed music - especially hymns. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Duluth and St. James Presbyterian Church in Tower, MN while at the cabin.
Skip enjoyed photography, skiing, the cabin, fishing, boating, maps, traveling, and planning travels. He cherished family get-togethers, especially being the Patriarch at Christmas Eve. He delighted in his family.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents.
Skip is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sara; daughters, Melissa (Marc) Breitsprecher of Ft. Worth, TX and Erica (Michael) Koski of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Aaron and Jesse Breitsprecher and Jack and Abby Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews and their families; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.

VISITATION: 10am Saturday, October 21st at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1505 Eklund Ave, Duluth, MN with memorial service to follow at 11am.
