LeRoy was always happiest when he was outdoors. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and drinking beer with family and friends, but not necessarily in that order, and two out of three was the best.

LeRoy Edward Archambeau, 85, of Duluth MN, passed away on February 1, 2024 at Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center.

LeRoy was born in Duluth, MN to parents Raymond Joseph Archambeau and Ruth Marie (Johnson) Archambeau on August 9, 1938. He went to school in Hermantown until the 11th grade. LeRoy worked at various labor jobs before starting work at Lakehead Auto. LeRoy worked as a Volkswagen Mechanic for over a decade. He wasn't truly happy working inside and for somebody else, so LeRoy decided to become self-employed and bought a garbage route. Over the years, LeRoy expanded his route with the help of his brothers and sons. LeRoy sold the route when he was in his 50's and enjoyed many of his retired year's hauling scrap and enjoying the outdoors.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his infant son in 1959; grandson, Arnie; great-great-grandson, Jacob Long; brothers, Gene and Kenny; and special nephew, Mike.

LeRoy is survived by his children, Keith (Beth) Archambeau, Kurt Archambeau (Penny Richardson), and Kandy Johnson; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Bayshore and Essentia Hospice Care.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 26th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service at 2:00 PM and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
