Lana Sue Murray was born on April 26, 1957, in Anaheim, California, to Gerald and Beverly (Robinson) Murray.
After a courageous 50-year battle with NF2, Lana passed away, leaving behind a legacy of strength, independence, compassion, and love. During her illness, she contributed to Gamma Knife studies at the Mayo Clinic in the 1990s. Her participation helped advance treatments that have since benefited thousands of people seeking life-saving care.
Despite the challenges she faced, Lana maintained a high level of independence and remained devoted to her children, grandchildren, and family. She will be remembered for her courage, resilience, and unwavering love.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Beverly Murray; grandparents Glen and Agatha Robinson of Duluth, and Madge Peterson and Frank Murray of West Yellowstone; her brother, Curtis Murray of West Yellowstone; her stepmother, Linda Murray of West Yellowstone; and the father of her two children, Fredrick "Sonny" Dietzmann.
She is survived by her children, Brandon Dietzmann and Cherry Dietzmann of Duluth, and their spouses; her devoted sister, Colleen Murray; and her nephew, Jessie Murray.
"Nana Lana" will be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren: Jason, Darla "Sassafrass," Riley, Little Brandon, Iris, Ava, and Hudson.
