Laina Marie Dalbacka, 85, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Viewcrest Health Center. Laina was born in Floodwood to Emil & Hilja Marttila on August 9, 1931. She graduated from Floodwood High School. She grew up in Floodwood, and she spent many years living in Cook, Silver Bay, and Hermantown with her late husband, Orvo. Together they owned Dalbacka's Jewelry. She spent her last few years living at Keystone Bluffs in Hermantown. Family meant everything to Laina, and she was a very nurturing woman.  Laina was preceded in death by her husband, Orvo, who passed away on March 19, 2015; daughter, Kay Dalbacka; and siblings, Swante, Elvie, Matt, Selma, Sadie, and Everette. Orvo was also preceded by his parents, Oscar and Armeta; brothers, Willard and Veikko; and sisters, Vienno and Allie. Laina is survived by her son, Bruce (Juliette); grandchildren; sister, Norma (Leonard) Schminski; and many nieces and nephews. Orvo is also survived by his brother, Glen; and sister, Mayme Rauvola. VISITATION: 3:30pm Thursday, June 22nd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, with a joint memorial service for Laina and Orvo at 4pm.
