IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ki Wirtz
Lindgren
November 12, 1997 – October 1, 2024
The world became brighter on November 12, 1997 when Ki Lindgren was born. This beautiful soul died at the age of 26 on October 1, 2024; they left this physical life to travel on in spirit to yet another grand adventure. A longtime resident of Duluth, MN, Ki died in the hospital due to complications from surgery. Ki was surrounded with loving support from family, friends, and staff.
Ki was preceded in death by cousins, Katelyn Wirtz and Russell Lindgren.
Ki is survived by mother, Lori Lindgren; father, Joe Lindgren; siblings Anjay Lindgren and Crystal Wirtz; maternal grandparents, Herb and Greta Lindgren; paternal grandparents, Howard and Faith Wirtz; Ki's adoring cat, Lili; as well as, many family and friends around the world.
We will remember Ki's wisdom, intelligence, creative spirit, generosity, wit, and humor. Ki loved to travel and in the time on this Earth, they explored many places in South America and Southeast Asia. Ki was a prolific artist, bursting with creativity: poetry, drawings like mandalas and zentangles, tie-dye, origami, god's eyes, crocheting, etc. Ki's amazing, boundless, beautiful heart had room for all beings, which expressed itself in activism for marginalized people, LGBTQIA, people of color, and protection of endangered species. Ki was a true steward of the Earth and everything on it. Some of Ki's favorite places locally were Chester Creek and Jay Cooke State Park. They enjoyed nature, were an avid tree climber, and loved going canoeing, camping, and hiking. Ki had a thirst for knowledge that could NOT be quenched. They loved teaching and sharing their knowledge with others. Ki was a voracious reader and learned many languages - to the point that Ki preferred reading in Español instead of English.
And as we all know, Ki was perseverant, fiercely independent, adventurous, and strong. We will honor Ki's life by living ours fully. We wish you safe and fun travels, Ki. Be at peace.
