Kenneth "Jim" James McDonnell, 92, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and a mentor to others. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a 42 year member of AA. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. Jim was preceded in death by wife of 68 years, Harriet; his parents, James and Frances McDonnell; sister, Pat; brother, John "Jack"; and grandbaby, Jody. Jim is survived by his children, Jim (Debbie) McDonnell, Kathy (Jim) Barry, Janine (Jerry) Ternes, Mike (Jackie) McDonnell, and Colleen Seafolk; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kriston), Jeff (Tracy), Amy (Sawyer), Kimmy (Matt), Zach, Makayla (Aaron), and Miranda; step-grandchildren, Tom (Sam), Corey, Nick, and Julia; great-grandchildren, Ava and Landon; step-great-grandchildren, Riley, Alyssa, Mason, Emily, Taylor, Trevor, Megan, Will, Mariella, and Gavin; sister-in-law, Shirley; and nieces, nephews, and close friends. The family would like to thank Keystone Bluffs and Essentia Hospice for all their loving and gentle care for Dad. VISITATION: 10 am on Wednesday, Aug. 21st at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with memorial service to follow at 11 am. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
