Kenneth Martin "Iver" Iverson Sr., 90, of Saginaw, MN passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Ken was born in Duluth on Aug. 23, 1927. He was an Army Engineer in World War II in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. His profession was heavy equipment operator, truck driver and skilled mechanic. He had a great respect for Lake Superior and took his boat the "Fun Seeker" on many trips to Isle Royal with his family. He had a year-round passion for fishing and won the "Iverson Ice Fishing Contests" often. He also enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, country music, and fixing things. His hard work ethic lives on in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ellen; infant daughter, Karen; and two sons, Russell and Jerry.
Ken is survived by his children, Suzie (Don) Erickson, Dianne (Larry) Evanson, Arleen (Jeff) Zapp, Ken (Shelley) Iverson, Bruce (Periann) Iverson, Cheryl (Rob) Nordeen, Brian (Kelly) Iverson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild; brothers, Walter (Jayne) and Marvin (Marlene); and his friend and companion, Joan Coughlin.
VISITATION: 12:30pm on Friday, April 6th at Solway Town Hall, 4029 Munger Shaw Rd, with a memorial service to follow at 1:30pm.
