Obituary

Kelly Robert "Rob" Campbell, 57, of Saginaw, Minn., passed away on March 15, 2014 after a courageous fight against complications from a lung infection. Rob was born on March 25, 1956 in Ishpeming, Mich., to Dugald Kelly and Krimsel Yvonne (Nichola) Campbell. Rob was a graduate of Eveleth High School, received his Associate in Arts degree from Vermillion Community College, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University. He worked in the mining industry for 33 years, most recently having been employed by Cliffs Natural Resources as an industrial hygiene specialist. He was a member of the Minnesota Mine Safety Association, a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and a member of the International Society of Mine Safety Professionals. Rob's favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. He especially enjoyed his trips to Lake of the Woods and the Gunflint Trail area. Rob was a hard-working, thoughtful person who was compassionate and kindhearted. He will always be loved, sadly missed, and never forgotten. The world is a poorer place without him.
