Kathryn Carol Nelson, 71, of Duluth, MN, died peacefully in her home on May 8, 2025.

Kathy was born in Oakes, North Dakota on July 9, 1953 to Robert and Lillian Chesley and graduated from Hermantown High School in 1971. She married her first husband, Edward Miller, in 1973 and had one child, Kimberly Miller, in 1977. Kathy married her second husband, Roger Nelson, in 1985. She worked for the Duluth Radisson as a server for over 15 years and retired in 2015 to spend time with her dogs (Betty and Barney), cross-stitch, knit and beat Skyrim.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillian Chesley; and her husband, Roger Nelson.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Kim (Justin Backes) Miller; brothers, Robert (Beth) Chesley and Daniel (Sandy) Chesley; sister, Debra Kivi; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Celebration of Life for family and friends to be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 24th  at Dan and Sandy's.
