Kathleen Alice Hoffman Degeberg, 68, of Duluth, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by family after a 9 month courageous fight with cancer. Kathy was born in Duluth to Frank and Margaret Hoffman where she lived all of her life raising her family. She attended Central High School and spent the majority of her working years at UMD. Kathy enjoyed many hobbies including stained glass, crocheting and gardening; her home is filled with lasting memories of her various passions. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret; sister, Carol; and brother, Larry. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Jim (Lisa) and Bob (Laura); daughter, Dawn (Brian) Swanson; grandchildren, Jacob (Kayla), Lauren, Kolton, Wyatt, and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Saria; brother, Robert (Ellen) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 11am Friday, February 2nd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with a memorial to follow at noon. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Goueli and the Oncology nurses at St. Luke's Hospital for their compassion and outstanding care.
