Katherine Irene (McLaren) Heskin, born on September 7th, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully June 2, 2024, at Essentia Health - St Mary's Hospital in Duluth MN. Kathy, as she was lovingly known, was a cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

On September 12th, 1964, Kathy married James Donovan Heskin. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising six children.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and John McLaren; brother, Jim McLaren; and daughter-in-law, Irma Whitney.

Kathy is survived by her husband, James Heskin of Duluth; children, Steve Whitney of Duluth, MN, Terri (Harry) Norris of Holyoke, MN, Kristina (Patrick) Garfield of North Oaks, MN, Eric (Christine Glover) Heskin of Duluth, MN, Leif (Bobbi) Heskin of Foxboro, WI, and Holly (Lee) Dobson of Saginaw, MN; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way, all of whom she adored and cherished; brother, John (Jessie) McLaren of California; and her beloved dog, Stella (aka, La-La).

Kathy retired from the Department of Homeland Security. For many years prior, she worked in the hospitality industry, where she formed lasting relationships within the community.

Kathy's greatest joy in life was her family, and she devoted herself to their happiness and well-being. Known for her encouraging and compassionate spirit, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On Saturday, June 8th, a private celebration of Kathy's life will be held at her home in Duluth, where the family will gather to honor her memory and share the many wonderful stories of her life. She will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown, MN.
