Judith Ellen Johnson (Judy), 68 of Duluth, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Solvay Hospice House after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Judy was born on July 29, 1947 in Duluth, MN.  She was raised in Proctor and graduated from Proctor High School in 1965.  She met the love of her life Ray Johnson and they married in June of 1967.  Throughout her life, Judy was involved with children, running a daycare then foster care years later.  Judy also worked for local government agencies retiring in 2010. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Martin Nelson. Judy is survived by her mother, Margaret Nelson; husband, Ray Johnson; children, Ken (Rachel) and Kelly (Eric); 5 grandchildren; sisters, Kari (Butch) and Kathi; brothers, Bob (Kathy) and Randy (Chere); and numerous nieces, nephews and foster children.  A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 4th, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, from 5-7:00 PM at Sunrise Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Solvay Hospice House. The family would like to thank the Solvay and Essentia Hospice staff for all their loving care.
