Joseph “Joe” Paul Schoenborn, 77, of Duluth, MN, passed away on May 25, 2026 in Duluth, MN.

Joe was born in White Earth, MN to Paul Schoenborn and Lorraine Perrault Schoenborn on August 8, 1948. He went to school at Lake Superior College and graduated as a LPN. He worked as a roofer for many companies for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, solitaire, and watching football and boxing. He received an award in recognition of completion for his service in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam in 1969.

Joe was oreceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Romaine and Nora Perrault; sister-in-law, Tina Schoenborn; brother-in-law, Ed Miller; nieces, Carly McDonell and Becky Smith; and nephews, Kristopher Schoenborn and Mark Grew.

Joe is survived by his sisters, Janice Schoenborn, Linda Miller, Lynne (Floyd) McDonell and Bernice Burgess; brothers, Donald (Karen) Schoenborn, Everett (Janet) Schoenborn, Edward (Hazel) Schoenborn, and Robert Schoenborn; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who all loved their “Uncle Joe” as he loved them.

Private family services to be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown. Interment with Military Honors at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.

Joe was very giving who easily helped people in need and shared what he had. We were all lucky to have Joe as a big brother and a friend.
