Jordyn was a beautiful soul with an extraordinary mind.

Jordyn "Jordy" Kay Flaada (Niigatikwe), 41, of Duluth, MN, passed away of natural causes on November 13, 2025 at home.

Jordyn was born in Virginia, MN, to Kent and Sharon Flaada on June 12, 1984. She graduated Cotton High School in 2002, and went on to earn a B.A. in political science and anthropology, with a minor in linguistics from Hamline University, and an A.A. degree in graphic design from Mesabi Community College. She worked as an Ojibwe language translator for Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia for over 10 years. She enjoyed studying languages, music, and reading. She was the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship. Her sense of humor and keen insights will be missed.

Jordyn was preceded in death by her father, Kent Flaada; grandparents, Ernest and Aune Flaada, and Arthur and Inez Pelto; and step-grandfather, Urho Kaskela.

Jordyn is survived by her mother, Sharon Flaada; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.

A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Jordyn gifted her eyes through the University of MN's Lions Gift of Sight.
