John "Jiggs" Pierson Moran, 72, of Duluth, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice following a lengthy illness. He was born on July 6, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio. John retired December, 30, 2012, as a Director of Chemical Dependency from Lake View Memorial Hospital of 14 years. John had a love for music, the arts, woodworking, in general jack-of-all-trades. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed greatly. John was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Ruth Moran; and brother, Lewis Moran. John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary; daughters, Charity (Ross) Gardner, Trina (Sam) Hansen, Sarah (Sean) Stonger; sons, Mark (Alicia) Hansen and John (Krystina) Moran; grandchildren, Daniel Counts, Mia Counts, Jackson Counts, Lucas Hansen, Katelyn Hansen, and Evan Stonger; sister, Judy Williamson; and many nieces and nephews. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3pm to 5pm Monday, June 5th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Luke's Hospice.
