John "Jack" N. Johnston, 83, of Duluth, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Essentia Health. John was born April 25, 1934, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Stuart & Grace Johnston. The family moved to Floodwood, Minnesota in 1943. John graduated from Floodwood High School in 1952, and moved to Duluth, where he married Delores Guentzel on October 22, 1955. John spent most of his working life as a department manager for JC Penney's.
John was proceeded in death by his wife, Delores; parents; brothers, Don (Joyce) and George (Leslie) Johnston; and sister, Beverly "Peg" Koland.
John is survived by his son, Rick (Theresa) Johnston; daughters, Kathy Dunaiski and Lori Johnston; grandchildren, Chad Dunaiski, Cassie (Lucas) Haldorson, Jessica Johnston, Jason Johnston, Jaryn (Hannah Johnson) Edblad, Nicholas Edblad, and April Edblad; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Edblad, Emmett Edblad, Evan Haldorson, and Gavin Haldorson; and brother, James (Lucy) Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 10 am Tuesday, October 31st at St. Raphael's, 5779 Seville Rd, with memorial service to follow at 11 am.
